The Terms and Reference of Sopafon

  • Conduct a base line survey to identify the widows most suited for the programme

  • Select beneficiaries based on equality of LGAs to ensure even spread in all the 23 LGAs

  • Identification and selection of beneficiaries would be in accordance with set criteria to ensure that the very vulnerable amongst the widows are not left out in the process

  • Organize basic skills training and capacity building workshops in different trade areas and simple business management techniques to improve on the beneficiaries’ ability to effectively utilize the empowerment packs

  • Conduct general Business training for the widows

  • Skill enhancement Trainings

  • List out specific starter-pack item/amount for each beneficiary

  • Set up of the various businesses

  • Ensure mentoring of beneficiaries’ business acumen to aid business growth and address societal issues arising from widowhood

  • Quarterly supervise, monitor and report the progress of the beneficiaries

  • Prepare close-out report
